Epidendrum schlechterianum is a botanical species found in Central and South America, in countries such as Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It was first described in 1912 by the German botanist Rudolf Schlechter, after whom it was named.

Epidendrum schlechterianum is an epiphytic orchid with upright or ascending stems, which can grow to a length of about 15-40 cm. The leaves are lance-shaped, fleshy, with entire edges, arranged alternately along the stem, giving the plant an unusual appearance. They measure approximately 4-12 cm in length and 0.8-2 cm in width.

The inflorescence is terminal, 10-20 cm long, bearing between 5-15 flowers. The flowers are small, about 2-3 cm in diameter, with petals and sepals of white or yellow-green color. The lip is three-lobed, white with a slight pink or purple tint near the base. The flowers are fragrant and have a sweet scent.
