Elaeagnus pungens 'Maculata'
Elaeagnus pungens 'Maculata' is a variety of the species Elaeagnus pungens, also known as "silverthorn" or "thorny olive". It is an evergreen shrub popular for its variegated leaves, which are usually dark green with a golden or cream-yellow center. This characteristic makes it very attractive, being used for ornamental purposes.
Foliage : The variegated leaves are the main attraction, providing a beautiful contrast in gardens.
Height : It can reach a height and width of up to 3-4 meters, depending on the conditions.
Flowers : It produces small, fragrant, white or cream flowers, but these are generally not the focal point of the plant. It can produce small, dark red fruits, but they are not generally considered edible.
Resistance : It is a very resistant plant, able to tolerate a wide range of soils and climatic conditions, including drought. Holds well until -15°C. Planting in areas protected from strong winter winds is recommended.
