Elaeagnus ebbingei (Russian Olive, Silverberry) - edible fruits

Elaeagnus ebbingei is a decorative evergreen shrub that stands out for its silver leaves, with a "dusty" appearance.

Flowers : It produces small, fragrant, white or cream flowers, but these are generally not the focal point of the plant.

Fruits : Produces edible fruits, the size of olives or cherries, which ripen in early spring, usually at the end of March - beginning of April. The fruits are aromatic and reminiscent of black cherries in taste.

Resistance : It is a very resistant plant, able to tolerate a wide range of soils and climatic conditions, including drought. Holds well until -15°C. Planting in areas protected from strong winter winds is recommended.

Note: In the autumn-winter seasons, the plants are cut drastically in order to branch.
