Delosperma echinatum is a curious and decorative succulent, native to South Africa, appreciated for its fleshy leaves covered with translucent hairs, which give it a "spiky" but soft-to-the-touch appearance. Because of this unique look, the plant is also known as the "Pickle Plant" or "spiny ice plant".
Besides the unusual foliage, Delosperma echinatum produces small, star-shaped flowers in pale yellow shades, which appear mainly in spring and summer, adding a touch of delicacy to the plant.
