Clematite de iarna, evergreen - Clematis cirrhosa var. balearica (flori parfumate)
Clematis cirrhosa var. balearica is a perennial climbing plant, valued for its distinctive flowers, which appear especially in the cooler months of the year.
This variety has vigorous growth, reaching heights of up to 3-4 meters. The leaves are semi-evergreen, meaning some remain on the plant throughout winter, depending on climatic conditions. In extreme winters, the plant may lose all its leaves.
Flowering generally begins in November or December and can continue until February or March. The flowers are bell-shaped and arranged singly. They have a pale cream background, over which dark purple or dark brown spots are scattered. The flowers are fragrant.
To encourage proper/abundant winter flowering, as well as foliage retention, it is recommended to place the plant in areas sheltered from blizzards/strong drafts.
Attention - under certain conditions, Clematis cirrhosa may go dormant during the warm season - in which case it is necessary to reduce watering. Dormancy may also involve some foliage deterioration.
