Clematis 'Comtesse de Bouchaud' is one of the most appreciated and floriferous varieties of large-flowered clematis. It is a vigorous climber with abundant and long-lasting blooms.

The plant can reach 2.5–3.5 m in height and clings to supports on its own. The flowers are large (10–15 cm in diameter), an elegant mauve-pink with darker veins and creamy stamens. They appear in successive waves from June to September, covering the plant in a pale pink cloud. It is a very generous and relatively easy-to-grow variety.

Main features:

  • Size: 2.5–3.5 m height
  • Flowers: large, mauve-pink, 10–15 cm
  • Flowering period: June – September (long and abundant blooming)
  • Pruning group: 3 (prune heavily in early spring)
  • Hardiness: very good frost resistance

Simple and practical care:

  • Light: full sun or partial shade (top in sun, roots in shade)
  • Soil: rich, well-drained, slightly alkaline
  • Watering: regular, especially during the growing period
  • Pruning: cut back to 20–30 cm from the ground in February-March (group 3)
  • Support: pergola, fence, wall, trellis, or arch

Clematis 'Comtesse de Bouchaud' is ideal for covering pergolas, fences, walls, or balconies. Due to its long flowering period and pleasant color, it is one of the most used clematis varieties for medium and large gardens. It pairs very well with climbing roses or other perennials.

A classic, robust, and very generous variety that offers spectacular and long-lasting blooms every summer.

In the autumn-winter season, plants are sold without leaves.
