Citrus 'Meyer' is a hybrid of Citrus limon, originally from China, introduced to the United States by Frank Meyer, hence its name. Despite the fact that it was recently introduced in the USA, improved and then quickly spread throughout the world, it seems that the variety has existed for thousands of years and is the result of a natural cross between a citron and a mandarin or pomello. The peel smells of lemon, orange and light notes of jasmine.
