Citrus hystrix, commonly known as Kaffir Lime, Makrut Lime, Thai Lime, Leech Lime, or Mauritius Papeda, is a variety of citrus native to Southeast Africa and southern China.

The fruits are used for their aroma in various dishes.
Due to their distinctive aromatic and even medicinal properties, the leaves are frequently used in Thai, Cambodian, Vietnamese cuisine, as well as in other parts of the world – fresh, dried, or frozen – in ice creams, lemonades, soups, salads, and more.
