Orchid Cattleya (Laelia) purpurata var. sanguinea - compact botanical species, endemic to Brazil.

The flowers are impressive, large, strongly fragrant, appear in numbers of 1-7 per stem (depending on the maturity of the plant) and have a particularly long lifespan.
