Catasetum gnomus 'Jumbo'
Catasetum gnomus - an epiphytic botanical species of medium size, which grows in conditions of variable temperature, from warm to cool, and is found in the Amazonas state of Brazil and Peru, on low-altitude trees near watercourses, in moist mountain forests, at altitudes between 200 and 1200 meters.
It blooms from spring to autumn, on a curved or slightly upright flower stalk up to 40 cm long, with 4 to 20 fragrant flowers, having broad, ovate floral bracts. The flowers appear on a recently matured pseudobulb and show three types of visible sexual structures: male, female, and hermaphrodite.
