Here are some tips for Ilex bonsai care:

Watering: Ilex bonsai must be watered regularly, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid letting the bonsai dry out completely or be too wet.

Light: Ilex bonsai prefers strong, filtered light. It can tolerate morning sunlight, but must be protected from strong afternoon sun.

Temperature: Ilex bonsai prefers moderate temperatures. It is ideal to protect them during the winter when the temperatures drop below freezing.

Soil: Ilex bonsai requires well-drained soil. A common bonsai mix consists of sand, clay and earth.

Fertilization: Fertilize the Ilex bonsai once a month during the growing season with a diluted bonsai fertilizer.

Pruning: Pruning and shaping Ilex bonsai can be done throughout the year, except in winter. To maintain the desired size of the leaves, it is recommended to pinch the new growth tips.
