Alocasia Zebrina *babyplant

Alocasia zebrina is a spectacular tropical plant, known and loved for its unique, zebra-striped stems and large, arrow-shaped leaves. It is a highly decorative indoor plant, perfect for adding an exotic, modern and graphic accent to any space.

🔹 Botanical characteristics:

• Habit: An upright, elegant perennial with long stems and erect leaves. It can reach 60–100 cm in height under ideal conditions.

• Leaves: Large, glossy, arrow-shaped , dark green with prominent veins. The surface is smooth and thin, with a pronounced tropical appearance.

• Stems: The distinctive feature of the plant – thin, elongated, with irregular dark brown stripes on a yellow background , very similar to a zebra pattern. This contrast makes the stems look drawn and extremely decorative.

🔹 Recommended growing conditions:

• Light: Prefers bright indirect light , but can also adapt to partial shade. Does not tolerate direct sun exposure, which can burn the thin leaves.

• Watering: Moderate. Keep the soil slightly moist, but not soggy. It is important to have very good drainage, as it is sensitive to excess water.

• Soil: Aerated and well-drained – ideally a tropical mix with peat, perlite and shredded bark.

• Humidity: It appreciates high atmospheric humidity , but can also adapt to drier spaces if it is sprayed occasionally or kept near a humidifier.

• Temperature: Grows well in warm, stable environments. Must be protected from cold drafts and low temperatures.

• Fertilization: During the growing season (spring–summer), apply a liquid fertilizer for green plants every 2–3 weeks.

• Maintenance: Average – requires attention to watering and humidity, but is resistant if it has the right conditions.

Alocasia zebrina is prized by collectors and interior designers for its graphic appearance, distinctive stems, and exotic air . It is perfect for modern, jungle-style decors or as a tropical accent in a minimalist space.
