Alocasia Portodora , sometimes called Alocasia x portora , is an ornamental hybrid in the Araceae family, renowned for its impressive size and strongly wavy-edged leaves. Although its name suggests a connection to the species Alocasia odora and Alocasia portei, this hybrid has unique characteristics that set it apart in both indoor and outdoor landscapes.

Recommended growing conditions

Light : Prefers bright but indirect light; can tolerate partial shade. Direct exposure to intense sunlight, especially during peak hours, should be avoided to prevent leaf scorch.

Humidity and watering : keep the soil slightly moist, not soaked. Alocasia Portodora appreciates higher atmospheric humidity, being native to tropical areas. Excessive watering can lead to rotting of the rhizome, and excessive dryness to slow growth and yellowing of the leaves.

Soil : A well-drained, organic-rich substrate is recommended. A mixture of peat, shredded bark, perlite, or coarse sand can be used.

Temperatures : prefer warm environments, without sudden variations. Avoid extremely low temperatures, which can negatively affect the roots and foliage.

Fertilization : during the period of active growth, periodic application (once every few weeks) of a balanced fertilizer, in moderate doses, helps develop large and healthy leaves.

Note: Alocasia is a sensitive plant. Therefore, it is possible that you will receive these plants with some defects on the leaves, but these do not affect the viability of the plant.
