Aglaonema 'Red Joy'

Aglaonema ‘Red Joy’ is a modern and striking variety of Aglaonema (also known as “Chinese Evergreen”), valued for its leaves richly colored in shades of red, pink, and green, with a lush and tropical appearance. It is an indoor ornamental plant, easy to care for and suitable even for beginners.

🔹 Botanical features:

• Form: A perennial plant with compact and upright growth, generally reaching 30–50 cm in height, ideal for pots, desks, or bright corners.

• Leaves: Large, oval-elongated, with a glossy texture. The coloration is striking: deep red or coral pink over most of the leaf, with green edges and veins, creating a strong decorative contrast. The leaf shape is symmetrical and elegant.

• Stems: Short, thick, usually reddish in hue, supporting the leaves vertically or slightly curved.

🔹 Recommended growing conditions:

• Light: Prefers strong indirect light to maintain the intensity of leaf color. It can adapt to shadier spots, but the coloration may become duller.

• Watering: Moderate. Water when the top layer of the soil is dry. Does not tolerate excess water – requires good drainage.

• Soil: Airy and well-drained, ideally peat-based with perlite or a mix for tropical green plants.

• Temperature: Thrives in warm, stable environments. Does not tolerate cold and should be kept away from temperatures below 15°C.

• Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Can benefit from occasional misting or a humidifier.

• Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring–summer), can be fertilized once a month with fertilizer for decorative foliage plants.

• Propagation: By dividing the clump or by stem cuttings.

• Care: Low to moderate – requires only proper watering and suitable light to keep its leaves healthy and brightly colored.
