Care
-
Light: Caladium prefers bright places, but shielded from direct sunlight. Too strong light can burn the leaves, while lack of light causes the vibrant colors to fade.
-
Watering: This plant requires consistently moist soil, but not waterlogged. Watering should be adjusted according to temperature and ambient humidity, increasing frequency during summer and reducing it in winter.
-
Temperature and humidity: Caladium thrives in high humidity and temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.
-
Fertilizer: Feed the plant once a month during the active growing period (spring-summer) with a balanced water-soluble fertilizer.
-
Soil: Choose soil rich in organic matter with good drainage.
Caladium is a very sensitive plant during transport (especially to temperature changes). Therefore, you may receive these plants with significant leaf blemishes, but these do not affect the plant’s viability. Under optimal care conditions, new leaves will develop normally.
