Rhynchovola Jimminey Cricket (B. nodosa × Rl. digbyana)
Rhynchovola Jimminey Cricket (Brassavola nodosa × Rhyncholaelia digbyana) - a primary hybrid obtained by crossing two botanical species with amazing characteristics. The plant is compact, resilient, with large, fragrant flowers.
Technically, both parents that led to this cross are Brassavola, even though botanists have not settled, successively moving digbyana from Laelia to Cattleya, then to Brassavola, and finally to Rhyncholaelia.
Brassavola are known as "Lady of the night" due to their very strong fragrance that is especially noticeable during the night, a mechanism that attracts nocturnal pollinators, and this hybrid is no exception.
Flower size: 12-14 cm
Care is similar to a Cattleya orchid. See the care guide here.
Fragrant flowers: YES
Genus/Type: Cattleya Alliance
Rhynchovola is an orchid sensitive to environmental changes, and buds and flowers may be lost between listing and delivery, or even during transport, due to temperature variations. Flowers of this genus are thermosensitive. The presence of buds at listing still confirms the plant’s maturity, and the price is valid whether the plant arrives with flowers or not. Price valid for one (1) potted plant.
