Opuntia azurea is a species of cactus native to the arid regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, noted for its distinctive color – blue-gray to silvery – and its large, bright yellow flowers , which appear in the warm season. It is a succulent plant with a flattened habit, segmented into "cladodia" (plates) that form architectural bushes, highly appreciated in desert-inspired gardens or in cactus collections.
