Full description and specifications

Cocoa husk mulch is an ideal organic option for garden or potted plants, belonging to the most varied categories. Its high nitrogen content recommends it as a biological and environmentally friendly fertilization option, with high yield, and its toxicity to invertebrates contributes significantly to pest control.
In agricultural practice, and especially horticulture, as an integral part of it, it is often recommended to amend soils and culture substrates with a mulch, both in individual containers (pots, containers, planters) and in the culture in the garden. Mulch represents an addition of organic or inorganic substances, with various roles in supplementing or preserving some stationary parameters of the soil. The roles fulfilled by mulch are the following:
To prevent water evaporation, prolonging its availability at the level of the root system;
To provide a filter, a thermal buffer, which will increase the stationary inertia against temperature variations, reducing the heating process during the warm season and, respectively, the cooling and implicit frost, during the winter;
To control, influence and maintain, applied in the appropriate proportions, an optimal pH of the soil;
To contribute with an intake of nutrients, released through natural, biological, organic processes, in contrast to chemical fertilizers, and to provide nutrients for cultivated plants, contributing to soil regeneration. In other words, the application of a mulch extends, in the case of culture in pots, the time required until the substrate is changed;
To prevent the growth of unwanted plant elements (ruderal, segetal), generically called weeds, both in open culture and in growing containers;
To allow the development of beneficial microorganisms that contribute to and support edaphic processes (soil formation through the decomposition of plant matter);
To provide protection against pests, especially combined with other elements, such as ground eggshells, which on the one hand constitute an important amendment to supplement the soil with calcium, but also contribute to the fight against harmful gastropods (snails and slugs)
To prevent the formation or spread of fungal diseases, preventing plants from being sprayed during irrigation;
