The dwarf mandarin is a very hardy perennial fruit-bearing shrub compared to other citrus plants, small in size, used for both practical and decorative purposes. Its fruits can be eaten raw, preserved in syrups or marmalades, or candied, being especially appreciated.

Care instructions Kumquat
Placement: bright location with a few hours of sun during summer; in winter, in a cool place with good light.
Soil: heavier mix made of peat, coarse sand, leaf soil, fertilizer.
Moisture: water moderately when the soil dries slightly on the surface, spray on the leaves. Excess moisture is harmful, the plant may lose leaves in large amounts, and the root may rot. Dryness also leads to leaf loss.
Characteristics: flowers can appear at any time of the year; at the same time, the shrub can have flowers, green fruits, and ripe fruits.
If the plant stagnates, it should be fertilized once a week during the warm period with special fertilizer for citrus. To prepare for winter, all tips are pruned in autumn. It winters in cool rooms (NOT near the radiator) and should be watered less often. This rest period is absolutely necessary for abundant flowering and fruiting the following year. In April-May, the second shortening of branches/shoots takes place.
