Sarracenia leucophylla, the pitcher plant, is truly carnivorous. The plant normally feeds on insects which it skillfully traps, but it can also be fed small pieces of meat that it digests slowly, over 2-3 days.
Sarracenia grows very well in Sphagnum peat mixed with compost, fertilizers, and specific trace elements – a substrate you can find here: Sarracenia substrate.
IMPORTANT: Insectivorous/carnivorous plants pose no danger to people. Their digestive juice is at most a good hand disinfectant!
Plant height: 15-20 cm
Pot diameter: 9 cm
