Rosa ‘Lady of Shalott’® - Trandafir englezesc, David Austin
Rose ‘Lady of Shalott’® - the red-orange buds turn into cup-shaped flowers. The outer petals are pink-salmon with a beautifully contrasting golden-yellow underside. It has a pleasant, warm, tea-like scent with hints of spiced apple and cloves. It grows quickly as a bush with slightly arching stems and medium green leaves that have attractive bronze tones when young.
Named after the Tennyson Society. The name is taken from one of Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s poems, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his birth. The poem tells the story of the Lady of Shalott, who lived in a castle near Camelot, King Arthur’s place, and was held under a spell.
