Full description and specifications

Mentha suaveolens 'Calixte' , also known as apple-flavored mint, is an aromatic perennial plant from the Lamiaceae family. It is distinguished by its oval leaves, slightly velvety, of an intense green, strongly variegated, with jagged edges and often covered with fine hairs, giving it a soft texture to the touch. The leaves have a strong and pleasant smell of mint, often with fruity or citrus notes, which makes it popular in aromatic gardens and decorations.

The plant produces small, lilac-white flowers, arranged in dense inflorescences, on stems that can reach a height of 30-60 cm. It is appreciated for its resistance and ability to grow in various conditions, including in poorer soils or semi-shaded places. Being a vigorous plant, it spreads quickly through the rhizomes, so it sometimes requires control in order not to invade other areas of the garden.

'Calixte' is often used in teas, culinary preparations and infusions due to its pleasant aroma and therapeutic properties associated with Mentha plants.

It resists the cold just like the traditional varieties and is considered pest-free, the specific smell and the essential oils it contains being a good repellent.

Height with pots included: 20-30 cm
