Japanese banana tree - Musa Basjoo
Musa Basjoo - is one of the varieties with very good cold resistance, which recovers easily after winter and quickly resumes growth. In the cold season you will have to protect the plant or place it indoors. In the warm season, it grows very well on the terrace or (in southern Romania) even planted in the yard, in direct sun.
Bananas do best in full sun - because they are a fast-growing plant, fertilization and watering during the growing season are essential.
Although the plant's foliage is lost at -2°C, the rhizome can withstand temperatures down to -12°C without being affected.
Other common names: Japanese banana, hardy banana,
Height with pot included: approx. 25+ cm (depending on season)
Note: In general, the leaves of this plant are very fragile and show defects/damage or may be broken - this is considered normal for a banana plant, and the plant has a very fast growth rate. As it develops, this variety loses its leaves at the base.
