Alpinia galanga (Thai Ginger, Galangal)
Alpinia galanga is a large plant from the ginger family, grown for its rhizomes, which have important medicinal and aromatic properties.
The root (rhizome) of Alpinia galanga is historically used in Unami medicine, being considered an essential part in the treatment of certain diseases and ailments.
At the same time, it is used as a spice and flavoring in both Arabic and Asian cuisine.
