Alpinia galanga (Ghimbir Thailandez, Galangal)
Alpinia galanga is a tall plant from the ginger family, grown for its rhizomes which have important medicinal and aromatic properties.
The root (rhizome) of Alpinia galanga has been historically used in Unami medicine, being considered an essential part in treating certain illnesses and conditions.
At the same time, it is used as a spice and flavoring both in Arabic and Asian cuisine.
