Full description and specifications

Abies nordmanniana , also known as the Caucasus fir or Nordmann fir , is a species of conifer in the family Pinaceae, native to the Caucasus Mountains and northeastern Turkey. It is one of the most popular species of fir used as a Christmas tree due to its elegant appearance, dense crown, and hardiness of its needles.

The Nordmann fir is a slow grower and can reach a height of 60-70 meters in its natural environment, with a thick trunk that can have a diameter of up to 2 meters. The leaves are needle-like, glossy, of an intense green on the upper side, and on the lower side they present two distinct white stripes. The cones are cylindrical, erect, having a length of 10-20 cm and a purple-brown color before maturation.

This species prefers well-drained, nutrient-rich soils and semi-shaded or sunny locations, being cold-resistant. Due to its ornamental appearance and longevity, Abies nordmanniana is cultivated both for decorative purposes and for the production of quality wood.

Indoor storage conditions: This fir is an outdoor plant, but can also be kept indoors during the holidays provided it is placed in a cool area (e.g. a closed/open balcony), well ventilated and watered when the substrate is dry. It does NOT tolerate high temperatures well.

Height with pot included: 80+ cm. Measurement is from the ground to the top of the tree.
Pot diameter: 24 cm

The pictures are for informational purposes only - they are natural fir trees, each specimen is unique and has a different shape/development. The transport pot may be damaged/cracked due to the weight of the substrate and the plant.
