Brad nobil - Abies nordmanniana
Abies nordmanniana, also known as the Caucasus fir or Nordmann fir, is a conifer species from the Pinaceae family, native to the Caucasus mountains and northeastern Turkey. It is one of the most popular fir species used as a Christmas tree due to its elegant appearance, dense crown, and needle durability.
The Nordmann fir grows slowly and can reach a height of 60-70 meters in its natural environment, with a thick trunk that can have a diameter of up to 2 meters. The leaves are needle-shaped, glossy, a deep green on the upper side, and have two distinct white stripes on the underside. The cones are cylindrical, upright, measuring 10-20 cm in length, and have a purplish-brown color before maturing.
This species prefers well-drained, nutrient-rich soils and semi-shaded or sunny locations, being frost-resistant. Due to its ornamental appearance and longevity, Abies nordmanniana is cultivated both for decorative purposes and for producing quality timber.
Indoor care conditions: This fir is an outdoor plant but can be kept indoors during the holiday season provided it is placed in a cool area (e.g., a closed/open balcony), well ventilated, and watered when the soil is dry. It does NOT tolerate high temperatures well.
Height including pot: 80+ cm. Measurement is taken from the ground to the top of the fir.
Pot diameter: 24 cm
