Philodendron scandens 'Brasil', also known as Philodendron hederaceum 'Brasil', is a popular houseplant, appreciated for its decorative, variegated leaves.
This plant is part of the Araceae family and is native to the jungles of South America, which makes it adapted to conditions of low light and high humidity.
Care:
- Light : Prefers moderate, filtered light, but also adapts to low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
- Watering : Water the plant when the first centimeters of soil are dry to the touch. Philodendron 'Brasil' prefers a moist environment, but not overwatered.
- Humidity : Tolerates any level of humidity.
- Soil : Prefers a well-drained soil, rich in organic matter.
- Fertilization : Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer, diluted in half, once a month during the period of active growth (spring-summer).
- Cutting : Can be cut to control shape and size. Cuttings can also be used for propagation.
