Tillandsia ‘Cotton Candy’ – planta aeriana spectaculoasa cu inflorescenta roz-lavanda
Tillandsia ‘Cotton Candy’ is a spectacular hybrid between Tillandsia stricta and Tillandsia recurvifolia, known for its fine, silvery-gray texture and airy inflorescence in pastel shades of pink and purple. It is one of the most popular air plants, perfect for hanging arrangements, glass globes, or minimalist decor.
🌿 Botanical characteristics:
- Family: Bromeliaceae
- Growth type: epiphytic (does not need soil)
- Leaves: thin, slightly curved, covered with silvery hairs that absorb moisture from the air
- Flowers: light pink with purple shades, appearing in spring or summer
- Size: medium to large for a Tillandsia (10–15 cm)
☀️ Growing conditions:
- Light: filtered natural light or strong artificial light; avoid direct sunlight
- Watering: mist 2–3 times a week in summer and 1–2 times in winter; occasional soaking in clean water for 15–20 minutes
- Temperature: ideal between 18–28°C; avoid cold below 10°C
- Humidity: 50–70%, with good ventilation to prevent mold
💨 Care:
After watering, hang the plant with the leaves down to allow water drainage. Fertilization can be done monthly with a diluted fertilizer for bromeliads or orchids.
⚠️ Note:
Leaves may show small dry spots or imperfections caused by transport or temperature variations – a normal aspect for air plants. Flowers may wilt during transport or until the order is shipped.
