Macodes petola - een terrestrische orchidee die opvalt door het betoverende uiterlijk van de bladeren.
De bladeren van de juweelorchideeën zijn gesegmenteerd, met duidelijke nerven en vertonen verschillende patronen, meestal met gouden of zilveren glans - vandaar de volksnaam juweelorchidee (Jewel Orchid).

I couldn't believe the beauty of this plant. I initially thought it was coated in sparkling glue (which disappointed me for a second) until I realized—no, this is its true form. It arrived with a tiny baby plant that was so microscopic I had to water it with a teaspoon to protect the foliage. Fast forward to now: that same baby completely dominates its terrarium. This single purchase launched my full jewel orchid addiction.
