Full description and specifications

Rubus phoenicolasius, also known as Japanese raspberry or hairy raspberry , is a species of raspberry originating in East Asia, which stands out for its attractive appearance, which gives it great ornamental value and its tasty fruits. The red-orange fruits have a sweet-sour taste and can be eaten fresh or used in the preparation of juices, jams and desserts.

The Japanese raspberry Rubus phoenicolasius can reach heights/lengths of 2-3 meters and develops well in well-drained soils, preferring exposure to the sun or semi-shade. Its branches are covered with fine, red bristles, which give it a special ornamental appearance. Its white flowers, with delicate petals, appear in spring and attract bees and other pollinating insects, contributing to the biodiversity of the garden's ecosystem.

Although it is an interesting species from an aesthetic and taste point of view, Rubus phoenicolasius can become invasive in some conditions, due to its rapid growth and the ability to multiply by shoots. Therefore, it is recommended to monitor the spread of this shrub and apply control measures, if necessary.

Pot diameter: 14-15 cm
Height with pots included: approx. 50-60 cm

Plants for the garden or terrace are grown in unprotected spaces or with minimal protection (shading nets or anti-hail nets). For this reason, naturally, they cannot have perfect foliage - the leaves can show traces, defects or other damages.

In the cold season, the plants enter the period of vegetative rest.
