Full description and specifications

Saxifraga × arendsii Touran™ 'Red' is a modern and compact variety of the Saxifragaceae family, part of the Touran™ series, recognized for its abundant flowering and neat bush shape. It is a low-growing perennial, highly appreciated in alpine gardens, borders, rockeries and pots, due to its intense red flowers and decorative dark green foliage.

🔹 Botanical characteristics:

Habit: low and compact plant, forming a dense, rounded bush. The height reaches 10–15 cm , and the diameter of the bush extends up to 25–30 cm , depending on growing conditions.

Leaves: small, green, deeply lobed (finely divided), with a mossy appearance. Forms a dense and decorative vegetal carpet all year round.

Flowers: appear in spring, on thin, straight stems, above the foliage. They are bright red , with 5 rounded petals and a discreet yellow center. The flowers are small but numerous, covering the entire plant during the flowering period (March–May).

🔹 Recommended growing conditions:

Light: prefers partial shade or partial sun . In milder climates, it can tolerate direct sun, especially in the morning.

Soil: well-drained, loose, with neutral to slightly acidic pH. Ideal for rock gardens, slightly sandy or stony soils.

Watering: moderate. The soil is watered regularly during hot periods, but allowed to dry slightly between waterings. It does not tolerate water stagnation.

Resistance: rustic plant, frost resistant , tolerating temperatures down to approximately -20°C , if the soil is well drained.

Saxifraga can slightly change the color of its flowers depending on light, temperature, age of the flower and soil conditions. The basic color remains the same, but the intensity can vary.
