Full description and specifications

Rubus 'Thornless Boysenberry' is a special hybrid obtained by crossing blackberry and raspberry, known for its lack of thorns and for its particularly large and aromatic fruits. This cultivar emerged as a result of plant breeding efforts to eliminate the inconvenient thorns of traditional boysenberry varieties.

The 'Thornless Boysenberry' fruits are recognized for their distinctive taste, which is a combination of raspberry and blackberry taste. The fruits are large, dark in color, almost black, and have an elongated shape. They are very sweet, juicy and aromatic , being ideal for fresh consumption, but also for making jams, jellies or cakes.

One of the main advantages of this cultivar is the lack of thorns (which exist, but in the form of prickly pears), which makes harvesting much easier and more pleasant. This is an important aspect, especially for home gardeners or for those who want to involve children in gardening activities.

Withstands temperatures up to - 25 °C. For an abundant fruit production, it should be planted in a sunny area, without neglecting irrigation.

The plant is very resistant to diseases and pests.
Height with pots included: approx. 30 cm
Pot diameter: 11-14 cm or 2 liters

Plants for the garden or terrace are grown in unprotected spaces or with minimal protection (shading nets or anti-hail nets). For this reason, naturally, they cannot have perfect foliage - the leaves can show traces, defects or other damages.

In the cold season, the plants enter the period of vegetative rest.
