Rhododendron ponticum 'Variegatum' XXL (de gradina)
Rhododendron ponticum variegatum are reliable, evergreen shrubs, originating from various regions: South China, the Himalayas, and even Europe.
Rhododendron ponticum variegatum is mainly grown for its spectacular foliage, which is dominated by white color.
The flowers are pale lilac-purple and usually appear at the beginning of June. The leaves remain green if temperatures do not drop drastically.
It can be planted at any time of the year, as long as temperatures are above freezing.
Temperature: It withstands garden conditions down to -23 degrees Celsius.
Placement: It grows well in a partly shaded area. Plant after the risk of frost has passed.
Soil: must be acidic, rich in humus, and moist.
Fertilizing is not recommended.
