Rebutia vulpina is a fleshy plant from the Cactaceae family, native to the mountainous regions of Bolivia and Argentina. It is a small to medium-sized plant that can reach a height of about 5-10 cm. This cactus species is known for its spherical or cylindrical shape and its skin covered with fine and often colorful spines.

One of the distinctive features of Rebutia vulpina is its ability to produce brightly colored flowers. The flowers generally appear at the base of the plant and can have various colors, from pink and orange to deep red. The flowering period varies but most often occurs in spring and early summer.

The plant prefers well-drained soil and a moderate watering regime, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. It is well adapted to dry conditions due to its ability to store water in its fleshy tissues.

To maintain its compact shape and encourage flowering, it is recommended that Rebutia vulpina be exposed to direct sunlight or bright indirect light. However, prolonged exposure to strong summer sun should be avoided, as it could burn the plant.
