Raisin tree - Amelanchier lamarckii
The raisin tree, Amelanchier lamarckii - highly valued species, both for its decorative appearance and for its delicious fruits.
In spring, Amelanchier lamarckii is covered with delicate, white, star-shaped, discreetly fragrant flowers. In autumn, the foliage creates a real spectacle - the leaves are colored in shades of red-orange. The plant is frequently used by famous designers for arranging concept gardens.
The fruits are similar to blueberries, but they are much sweeter and aromatic, and the production is not at all negligible, being very high. When they are not picked in time, the fruits dry on the tree and have a taste and appearance similar to raisins. The fruits can be used for fresh consumption but also for desserts, jams or other preparations.
Amelanchier lamarckii can be grown as a shrub or as a tree. The height at maturity can reach 3-4m.

It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests. It withstands temperatures up to -30 °C, without the need for winter protection.
Note: Specimens with a shortened tip (for branching and growing as a bush/shrub with reduced height) capable of producing flowers and fruits the following year. In the cold season, it is sold without leaves.
