Pieris 'Forest Flame' - foliaj spectaculos, vesnic verde
Pieris 'Forest Flame' is an evergreen ornamental shrub known for its spectacular foliage and attractive flowers. It is especially valued for its new leaf growth, which appears in dazzling shades of bright red, gradually changing to pink, then cream, and finally light green as the leaves mature. This display of colors creates an appearance as if it is aflame, hence the name 'Forest Flame'.
The mature leaves are dark green, glossy, and have a lance-shaped form, adding a beautiful contrast to the new growth. Early in spring, Pieris 'Forest Flame' produces clusters of delicate white flowers, bell-shaped, which hang gracefully from the branches. The flowers are fragrant and attract pollinators, adding both aesthetic and ecological value to the garden.
The shrub is medium-sized, reaching heights of up to 1.5-2.5 meters and prefers shaded or partly shaded places, with well-drained and acidic soil (with an ideal pH between 4.5 and 6.0). It is ideal for use in woodland-style gardens, borders, or as a solitary plant for emphasis in landscapes.
Pieris 'Forest Flame' is resistant to most pests and diseases, making the plant easy to care for and a popular choice among gardeners.
