Dwarf banana - Musa 'Dwarf Cavendish' XL
Musa 'Dwarf Cavendish' is a variety of dwarf banana, very popular both for growing indoors and in tropical gardens. This plant is appreciated for its compact dimensions, which make it ideal for smaller spaces. It usually reaches a height of approximately 1.5-2 meters, much shorter compared to other banana varieties.
The leaves are large, wide and of an intense green, with a smooth texture. They can reach lengths of 1-2 meters, offering a lush tropical appearance. Under favorable conditions, Musa 'Dwarf Cavendish' produces attractive red-purple flowers that turn into small, edible bananas. The fruits are usually smaller than those available commercially, but they have a sweet and pleasant taste.
This plant prefers a well-drained soil, rich in organic matter, and needs regular watering, without being allowed to stand in stagnant water. It also prefers places with strong light, but can also tolerate partial shade. In temperate climates, Musa 'Dwarf Cavendish' is often grown in large pots, which can be moved indoors during the winter to protect it from frost.
Note: Leaves may be defective - this variety has fragile foliage. As it develops, this variety loses its leaves at the base.
The height is always measured with pots.
