Limequat Lyvia (kumquat x lime)
Limonella represents the cross between Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) and Kumquat with round fruits (Citrus japonica) - this resulted in a very juicy and aromatic fruit, with increased acidity, but quite sweet, with fewer seeds than a kumquat. shows
a very high concentration of vitamin C. It is considered a hybrid of intensive culture, because it has the ability to bloom and bear fruit all year round.
Lyvia's fruit is yellow-green, oval and slightly larger than the other varieties of Eustis Limequat. While, unlike limes, the fruit can be eaten whole, they remain an interesting ingredient for cocktails, lemonades or as a unique side dish/plate design.
This hybrid was first obtained by the American botanist Walter Tennyson Swingle in 1909.
All the citrus fruits that we sell are edible as a species (that is, they produce fruits that can be consumed), with the mention that some producers (such as Citrina) obtain additional certifications of the culture for "edible fruits" consumption.
