Full description and specifications

Lava is a porous material, of volcanic origin, used in landscaping, horticulture and the construction of ponds and water pools. It consists mainly of volcanic rocks that have a porous structure and a high water and air retention capacity.

In horticulture, lava pond can be used as an alternative substrate for plants, having advantages similar to those of other volcanic substrates, such as good water and air retention, pH neutrality and sterility.

Lava also has several advantages when it is used to set up aquariums or ponds:

  1. Natural filtration: Due to its porous structure, the lava pond functions as a natural filter, allowing water to pass through it and retaining impurities and large particles. This helps to maintain the water quality in ponds and water basins.

  2. Habitat for microorganisms: The lava pond offers an ideal environment for the colonization of beneficial bacteria and other microorganisms that contribute to the biological processes of filtration and the balancing of the aquatic ecosystem.

  3. Stability and durability: Pond lava is an inert and stable material that does not degrade over time, being a sustainable solution for arranging ponds and water pools.

  4. Natural aesthetics: Pond lava has a natural texture and color that fit well with the landscape and other elements of pond and garden design. It can be used to create waterfalls, banks or to support aquatic plants.

  5. Sustainability: Pond lava is a natural and ecological material, a more sustainable alternative to synthetic or non-renewable materials used in the construction of ponds and water pools.

Note: Bulk product - packaging is done in zip bags by our staff. It is not excluded that there may be some volume differences or a margin of error due to porosity, compaction, humidity or density of the material, but these variations are considered normal.
