Ficus cyathistipula (Smochinul African)

Ficus cyathistipula is also known as the African Fig.
The fig tree is recognized by NASA for its air-purifying properties. The fig can effectively filter pollutants usually emitted by carpets and furniture, including benzene, trichloroethylene, and formaldehyde.
The fig is an ornamental indoor plant valued for its leaves and is very easy to care for. It needs constant humidity in the air to maintain its pleasant appearance.
Placement: bright but shaded spot, protected from drafts
Humidity: water moderately, mist regularly
Soil: neutral Dutch peat or a very loose mixture
