Eucalipt - Eucalyptus urnigera (Urn Tree)
Eucalyptus urnigera, known as the Urn Tree due to the shape of its fruits, is a remarkable tree native to Tasmania. It is distinguished by its shiny silver-green leaves, which emit a strong and pleasant scent when crushed. The tree grows quickly and can reach impressive heights, offering a striking visual display in any landscape.
Eucalyptus urnigera produces white or cream flowers in the shape of little bells, which attract bees and other pollinating insects. Its bark is smooth and peels off in strips, revealing layers of pale colors that add extra interest. Due to its frost resistance, it is more adaptable to temperate climates than other eucalyptus species, making it a popular choice for gardens in cooler areas.
Besides its aesthetic value, Eucalyptus urnigera is used in the production of essential oils and has applications in traditional medicine. It is also valued for its ability to adapt to different soil types and for its air-purifying properties, making it not only a beautiful tree but also a useful one.
It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures down to -20 °C without needing winter protection.
Height including pot: approx. 40-60+ cm (varies depending on the season)
In the warm season, these plants may arrive with damaged foliage (tips/dry leaves) – this is due to transport and represents only an aesthetic flaw.
Recommendation: We recommend planting the eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots placed outdoors during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not do well long-term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.
The transport pots in which the plants come are brittle and may break during handling and transport.
