Full description and specifications

Eucalyptus subcrenulata, also known as small-leaved alpine eucalyptus or "Alpine Yellow Gum", is a species of eucalyptus endemic to Tasmania, Australia. It is a medium-sized tree that can reach up to 30 meters in height.

The bark is fibrous, brown or silver-gray and can remain on the trunk or come off in strips or peels. The leaves are dark green, glossy and lance-shaped.

The flowers appear between December and March in Australia (during the summer in Romania), they are white and are followed by conical or oval fruits, with a notched edge.

Eucalyptus subcrenulata usually grows in wet forests and in coastal areas. It can tolerate a wide range of soil conditions, including poor soils and clay soils.

The tree has a considerable economic value, being used in the wood industry for the production of lumber, furniture and constructions. It is also cultivated for ornamental purposes and is valuable to local ecosystems due to its attractiveness to local fauna.

It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures up to -20 °C, without the need for winter protection.

Height with pots included: approx. 60+ cm (varies depending on the season)

The appearance of the leaves and the level of branching can vary from one specimen to another - eucalyptus leaves change as they mature. In the warm season, these plants can arrive at their destination with damaged foliage (dry tips/leaves) - this aspect is due to transport and represents only an aesthetic defect.

Recommendation : We recommend that you plant the eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots, placed outside during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not behave well in the long term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.
