Dracaena Marginata, the plant that purifies the air

Dracaena is a species commonly found in the homes of exotic plant enthusiasts. Its sturdiness, as well as its exotic appearance, have contributed to the popularity of this plant both in homes and in office spaces, restaurants, and terraces.
According to a NASA study, Dracaena ranks among the top 10 plants that purify the air. Dracaena marginata removes not only benzene and formaldehyde from the air but also xylene and toluene.

🔹 Botanical characteristics:

• Plant type: decorative indoor shrub

• Mature height: up to 1.5–2 m in a pot (grows slowly)

• Leaves: long, narrow, dark green with thin red edges; arranged in a rosette at the top of the stem

• Stem: thin, woody, generally branched at the upper part

🔹 Growing conditions:

• Light: prefers strong indirect light but also tolerates partial shade

• Watering: moderate – water when the soil is dry on the surface (avoid overwatering)

• Soil: well-drained, universal type, mixed with perlite for aeration

• Minimum temperature: 10°C; ideal between 18–25°C

• Humidity: tolerates dry air but appreciates occasional misting
