Clematis 'Nelly Moser' - clematite cu flori foarte mari (Early Large-flowered Group)

Clematis 'Nelly Moser' - is a medium-sized climbing clematis. The flowers are very large, simple, flattened, with a diameter of up to 20 cm, having eight pink-lilac sepals, each with a distinct carmine stripe and red stamens. After flowering, round seed capsules appear. It blooms from late spring to early summer and again in early autumn.

Growing recommendations:

Large-flowered clematis prefer good quality soil, with high nutrient levels and good moisture, but well drained - they do not tolerate waterlogged soils where water stagnates. It is recommended to improve the soil with manure or compost at planting, if possible. In the case of cultivation in drier soils, which tend to dry out quickly, cover the base with a layer of shredded bark (or another type of mulch) to retain soil moisture.

Clematis generally prefer a growing space with good sun exposure.

If your clematis blooms in May-June (late spring), cut off the dead flower heads after they have finished to encourage a second flowering in late summer or autumn.

Be prepared to wait a few years until your clematis reaches its best form.

First year = roots, second year = shoots and branching, third year = consistent and proper flowering.

In the cold season, the plants appear as leafless sticks that seem dry - this is perfectly normal and the plants are as viable as can be.
