Clematite - Clematis 'Ville de Lyon' (Late Large-flowered Group)
Clematis 'Ville de Lyon' - clematis with large flowers reaching 15-16 cm, strikingly colored. Blooms in the summer season, usually until early autumn.
Classification: Late Large-flowered Group
These clematis prefer good quality soil, rich in nutrients, moist but well drained. It is recommended to improve the soil at planting with manure or compost, as much as possible. In the case of cultivation in drier soils that tend to dry out quickly, cover the base with a layer of shredded bark (or another type of mulch) to retain soil moisture.
Clematis generally prefer a growing space with good sun exposure.
It is not necessary to remove the withered flowers of these clematis, but if they seem to have finished blooming earlier than expected, a light pruning can encourage new growth and a second flowering late in autumn.
In the cold season, the plants appear as leafless sticks that look dry – this is perfectly normal and the plants are fully alive.
Height including pot: approx. 40-60 cm
Pot diameter: 12-14 cm or 2l
