Clematis montana var. rubens - mountain clematis with pale pink flowers and spectacular growth
Clematis montana var. rubens is a vigorous and romantic clematis variety, known for abundant flowering in May, when the plant is completely covered with pale pink, four-petaled flowers with a delicate vanilla fragrance. It is one of the fastest climbing clematis, ideal for covering pergolas, fences, walls, or tall structures.
Stems lignify with age, and the bronze-green spring foliage adds a beautiful contrast to the pastel flowers. Does not require heavy pruning, easy to maintain, and suitable for cottage or naturalized gardens.
