Citrus reticulata 'Clementine' - a shrub whose fruit is known as Clementina, is a hybrid between a mandarin and a sweet orange, created by Clément Rodier, the famous French missionary in Algeria.
The fruit is very popular, medium-sized, sweet and very aromatic. It is also appreciated for its thin skin, easy to peel, and for the lack of seeds. Clementines are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, offering multiple health benefits. They grow well in warm areas, with full exposure to the sun, and require well-drained soil. Inflorescences appear with greater frequency in the spring, and the fruits usually ripen in the winter, providing an abundant harvest.
