Citrus reticulata 'Clementine' - Clementine in pot
Citrus reticulata 'Clementine' - a shrub whose fruit is known as Clementine, is a hybrid between a mandarin and a sweet orange, created by Clément Rodier, a famous French missionary in Algeria.
The fruit is very popular, medium-sized, sweet, and very aromatic. It is also appreciated for its thin, easy-to-peel skin and seedlessness. Clementines are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, offering multiple health benefits. They grow well in warm areas with full sun exposure and require well-drained soil. The inflorescences appear more frequently in spring, and the fruits usually ripen during winter, providing an abundant harvest. These characteristics make them ideal for fresh consumption as well as for making juices and desserts.
