Citrus reticulata 'Clementine' - Clementine in pots
Citrus reticulata 'Clementine' - a shrub whose fruit is known as Clementina, is a hybrid between a mandarin and a sweet orange, created by Clément Rodier, the famous French missionary in Algeria.
The fruit is very popular, medium-sized, sweet and very aromatic. It is also appreciated for its thin skin, easy to peel, and for the lack of seeds. Clementines are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, offering multiple health benefits. They grow well in warm areas, with full exposure to the sun, and require well-drained soil. Inflorescences appear with greater frequency in the spring, and the fruits usually ripen in the winter, providing an abundant harvest. These characteristics make them ideal for fresh consumption, but also for the preparation of juices and desserts.
