Citrus japonica - Kumquat Oksana Hindsii
Citrus japonica or Kumquat.
The Kumquat is one of the hardiest citrus varieties - an ideal shrub for decoration, but also used for practical purposes. Its fruits can be eaten raw, preserved in syrups or marmalades, or candied, being especially appreciated.
In appearance, the fruit resembles a tiny orange, but in terms of taste and how it is consumed, it is completely different. It is eaten or prepared whole, including the peel.
Check the complete care guide for citrus on the blog.
Note: All citrus we sell are edible as species (meaning they produce fruits that can be eaten), with the mention that some producers (such as Citrina) apply for additional “edible fruits” cultivation certifications. There is a possibility that ripe fruits may fall off during transport. Fruits may be at various stages of development depending on the season.
