Citrus hystrix (Makrut lime) - exemplare tinere

Citrus hystrix, popularly known as Kaffir Lime, Makrut Lime, Thai Lime, Leech Lime or Mauritius Papeda, is a variety of citrus originating from SE Africa and southern China.

The fruits are used for their flavor in various preparations.
Due to the special aromatic and even medicinal properties, the leaves are frequently used in Thai, Cambodian, Vietnamese cuisine, but also in other parts of the world - fresh, dried or frozen - in ice creams, lemonades, soups, salads, etc.
