Care

• Light: Prefers well-lit places but should be protected from direct summer sunlight to prevent leaf sunburn.
• Watering: Requires regular watering, keeping the soil evenly moist. It is important not to let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
• Soil: A well-drained soil mix, specific for bonsai, is ideal. It should be able to retain moisture while allowing the roots to breathe.
• Fertilizing: Fertilize from spring to autumn with a balanced bonsai fertilizer, reducing frequency during winter.
• Pruning and shaping: Pruning is done regularly to maintain the desired shape and encourage branching. Pruning should be performed outside active growth periods to minimize plant stress.
• Winter protection: The ash bonsai must be protected from frost during winter, especially if temperatures drop below freezing.
